How often should you scrub your lips? Our tips for soft lips all year round
Share
We often talk about exfoliation for the face or body, but we forget that lips also need regular care . Between the cold, the wind, makeup and dehydration, they are often put to the test.
Exfoliating your lips helps keep them soft, smooth, and ready for your favorite gloss … but be careful not to overdo it!
💡 Why exfoliate your lips?
Lips don't have sebaceous glands: they don't naturally produce protective sebum. As a result, they dry out, peel, and become rough.
Lip scrub:
Removes dead skin
Smoothes the surface of the lips
Promotes better hydration
Improves the hold of lipstick or gloss
📅 How often should you exfoliate?
The right frequency depends on your skin type and the season.
👉 Generally: 1 to 2 times a week is enough.
Once a week if your lips are sensitive or in good condition.
2 times/week if you often use makeup or if your lips are very dry.
A break is essential if your lips are irritated, cracked, or damaged. In this case, prioritize moisturizing with a nourishing balm.
⚠️ Too much exfoliation = reverse effect! This can weaken the thin skin of the lips.
🧴 Which scrub should I use?
You can choose:
A ready-to-use lip scrub , gentle and enriched with nourishing agents
Or a simple homemade recipe: sugar + honey + a few drops of vegetable oil
